What’s something you could talk about for hours if someone just gave you the chance?

Cannabis is my favorite topic.

I’ve been around cannabis long enough to see it go from something people had to hide to a legal industry here in Colorado. I’ve watched the strains change, the growing techniques change, and the products change.

But what really interests me is the flower.

I like talking about strains, how they taste, how they smell, how they make you feel, who grew them, and whether the finished product is actually worth buying.

That’s why that Blue Dream I recently picked up caught my attention. It didn’t just taste like weed.

It actually had flavor.

And the effects were exactly what I was looking for.

That gets me thinking about all the classic strains that used to be everywhere.

Where did they go?

Can today’s growers still grow a Blue Dream, Durban Poison, or Sour Diesel that makes somebody who remembers the old versions say:

“Yep, that’s the stuff.”

That’s the kind of thing I could talk about all day.

And then there’s the dispensary side of it.

Budtenders know their shelves. Some of them know their flower better than anybody. I’d love to hear which strains they personally think are worth trying.

Give me a good strain, a knowledgeable budtender, and somebody willing to talk cannabis, and we could probably kill an afternoon pretty easily.

That’s why cannabis is my favorite topic.

There’s always another strain, another story, and another rabbit hole to explore.

And somehow, I never seem to run out of rabbit holes.
