Now it’s time for cannabis.

Welcome to the first annual Colorado Cannabis Throwdown:

Arkansas River Weed vs. South Platte River Weed

Which region grows the best flower in Colorado?

To explore the debate, participating growers would each contribute flower to a blind tasting project conducted in accordance with all applicable Colorado laws and regulations.

And because there’s no such thing as free weed in Colorado, the first 500 grams allocated to the project could be offered for one penny per gram through participating licensed retailers, subject to all applicable laws, regulations, availability, and eligibility requirements.

After that initial allotment, the contest could be opened to eligible adult consumers who legally purchase participating products through licensed channels and choose to submit reviews.

Each sample would be labeled anonymously so participants would not know which grower produced it. Eligible adults who are legally permitted to participate under Colorado law could evaluate the product using their normal and lawful consumption preferences and then complete a web form describing characteristics such as aroma, flavor, appearance, and overall impression.

This isn’t just about THC.

It’s about cultivation.
It’s about sustainability.
It’s about aroma.
It’s about flavor.
It’s about the growers who put their hearts into the plant.

Participation would be voluntary, limited to adults of legal age, and expected to follow all state and local requirements regarding possession, purchase, transfer, and consumption. The goal is to gather informed feedback while promoting responsible, lawful participation.

If your favorite flower comes from Pueblo County, stand up for Arkansas River-grown cannabis.

If you’re loyal to Front Range cultivators, represent the South Platte River.
