What ordinary moment from your life deserves to be remembered before it’s forgotten?

This morning, Missy gave me one of those little moments that would be easy to forget if I didn’t write it down.
Last night I tried giving her a whole cookie, but it was simply too much for a dog her size. This morning, she came up with her own solution. She picked up her first cookie from her bowl, carried it outside to the patio, and left it there. It was as if she was saying, “I’ll save this for later.”
She still ate about three quarters of her serving of kibble, so she wasn’t refusing breakfast. She just had her own priorities and her own way of doing things.
That’s one of the things that makes Missy… Missy. She has a personality all her own. Little moments like this probably wouldn’t mean much to anyone else, but to me they’re reminders that she has her own routines, preferences, and quiet little decisions. It’s these ordinary moments that end up becoming some of the best memories.
